The American Council of Engineering Companies of Arkansas announced the 2007–2008 Winners of the Engineering Excellence Awards

The Engineering Excellence awards are presented annually by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Arkansas, (ACEC/A), in recognition of engineering achievements, which demonstrate the highest degree of merit and ingenuity for engineering firms in the state of Arkansas.

On Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Arkansas Governors Mansion in Little Rock Arkansas, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Arkansas announced that the overall winner, the “Grand Conceptor Award” for the best engineering project for 2007-2008, goes to Cromwell Architects, Engineers, Inc. of Little Rock, Arkansas, for the “Heifer International Headquarters” project owned by Heifer International.

The winner in the category of Special Projects went to CEI Engineering Associates out of Bentonville, Arkansas for their project “Otter Creek Estates” owned by GBE Enterprises. Erin Rushing, left and Mike Shupe, P.E., right, from CEI Engineering accepted the award.







Accepting the award in the Water and Wastewater category was FTN & Associates Ltd, of Little Rock, Arkansas for their project, “Constructed Wetlands Wastewater System” with their client being Remington Arms Company, Inc.

In the category of Building/Technology Systems, Garver Engineers, Little Rock, Arkansas received the award for their project, “Lighting up the Big Dam Bridge,” with their clients, Pulaski County, Arkansas.

 Garver Engineers, Little Rock, Arkansas also received the award in the Transportation Category for their project, “Multiple Projects Included in Runway Extension,” with Little Rock National Airport as their client.

In the category of Studies, Research & Consulting, the award went to McGoodwin, Williams & Yates, Inc., (MWY), of Fayetteville, Arkansas for their project, “Springdale Water & Sewer Master Plan,” with Springdale Water Utilities being their client.

 

Accepting the award was Brad Hammond, P.E. of MWY on the right, and Rick Pulvirenti of Springdale Water Utilities on the left.

 

  

In the Surveying & Mapping Technology category the award went to Crafton, Tull, Sparks & Associates, Inc., (CTS), from Rogers, Arkansas, for their project, “Bentonville Storm Sewer Inventory & Mapping GIS,” with their clients, the City of Bentonville.

 

Accepting the award was from left to right, Clint Hopper and Bill Burnett, P.E. of CTS, Crissy Orr of City of Bentonville and Matt Crafton, P.E. of CTS. 

 

 

 

Honor Award went to Engineering Services, Inc., of Springdale, Arkansas, in the category of Water and Wastewater for their project, “Montgomery County Regional Water System.”

 

Accepting that award was Tim Mays, P.E. from Engineering Services, Inc.

 

  

Honor Award also went to Garver Engineers of Little Rock, in the category of Water and Wastewater for their project “Water Treatment Plant Upgrades.”

 

Accepting that award, from left to right, were Brode Morgan, P.E., of Garver Engineers, Blake Weindorf, P.E. from Central Arkansas Water, and Paul Strickland, P.E., of Garver Engineers.
